10 Instant Energy Boosters

  1. Go for a walk
If you want to feel instantly energized, get some sunlight. Another good reason to take a lunch break!
  2. Snack on protein
Chocolate may seem like a quick fix when you’re feeling tired, but it can play havoc with your blood-sugar levels. If you crave sugar in the afternoon, eat three meals a day and have a high-protein snack (such as nuts) mid-morning and mid-afternoon to avoid energy dips.
  3. Stroke a dog
Studies show that stroking a pet can help lower blood pressure and can also prompt the release of “feel good” hormones serotonin and oxytocin too.
  4. Sniff some peppermint
There’s nothing like the fresh, clean smell of peppermint to make you feel bright and awake. Studies show that sniffing peppermint can increase the brain’s production of alpha waves, electrical impulses that can produce a happier mood, in a matter of minutes.
  5. drink-waterDrink more water
Even mild dehydration can zap your energy and leave you feeling weak, dizzy and unable to think straight. Keep your fluid levels topped up by sipping water throughout the day. Thirst indicates dehydration has already occurred, so don’t wait until you feel thirsty to drink.

Laughter is one of the best energy boosters. When we laugh it triggers the release of endorphins, the body’s natural feel-good chemicals. Spend time with friends who make you laugh or watch your favorite comedy show on TV.
  7. Go for bright colors

Do 30 jumping jacks and you’ll really get the blood flowing and heart pumping.
